ALBERT LUISA

Luisa Albert was born in Turin in 1969 and earned a diploma in illustration from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan in 1992. She began collaborating with prominent publishing houses during the early years of her studies. Later, she turned to painting and became a student of Ottavio Mazzonis, who remained an important reference for her artistic development. Her first exhibition took place in 1996 at Galleria Dantesca in Turin. Since then, her works have been shown in over 50 exhibitions, including major contemporary art fairs in Italy, and are part of important private and public collections, such as those of the CRT Foundation, Generali, and the Regional Council of Piedmont, for which she created portraits of its recent presidents.
Albert employs chiaroscuro and playful manipulations of light to create works rooted in the observation of everyday life, rendered through theatrical compositions. Color, light, and shadow dominate her still lifes, interiors, and figures. In these silent spaces, where life seems to flow slowly and languidly, it is the artist’s gaze that allows us to perceive details, objects, and human habits — even though the people themselves are never depicted.
