KAPOR ANA

In 1983, Ana Kapor left Belgrade to enroll at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where she graduated in 1987. Born into an artistic family — her father was a well-known Serbian writer and painter — Italy represented the natural destination for a young woman eager to deepen her understanding of painting. In Rome, she met Arnaldo Romani Brizzi, which soon led to her first solo exhibition at his Galleria Il Polittico, followed by a fortunate encounter with gallerist Antonia Jannone, resulting in three solo shows at her Milan gallery, as well as participation in most major national and international art fairs.
Kapor’s painting bears a strong metaphysical imprint, echoing the architectural heritage of Serbia, yet situated within a Mediterranean landscape. Her works depict magical places, poised between dream and reality, immersed in a mysterious yet comforting nature, capable of soothing the soul and delighting the eye — an oasis of serene beauty that Ana Kapor has always sought to capture and convey through her art.
