MOLARD ISABELLA

Isabella Molard was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1957. She lives and works in Langrune, Normandy. After spending her childhood in Morocco, Molard returned to her hometown in 1974 to study art at university, focusing on drawing and the visual arts, and later became a full professor. Her exhibition activity began at the age of 22 with a show of drawings at Galerie Meyer Ellinger in Frankfurt, followed by numerous exhibitions in galleries and public spaces in Frankfurt, Brussels, Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Milan, and Bologna. From 1980 to 1999, she focused primarily on teaching, and from 1993 to 1999 she was involved in educational programs at art museums in Lower Normandy.

Her early works consist of pencil drawings, pastels, and watercolors depicting interior and exterior views with meticulous attention to detail. There is a strong compositional rigor and undeniable mastery in directing light within the scene to highlight or conceal portions of staircases, patios, and gardens. From 2002, her first paintings on canvas and panel appeared, though her choice of subjects remained consistent: portions of landscapes imbued with the atmosphere of privileged spaces, full of peace and silence.
