TRAN VIET HA

Viet Ha Tran is a photographer born in Vietnam in 1981, currently residing in Madrid. She began her career in 2013, first focusing on artistic photography and later exploring abstract painting. Her work has been published in magazines worldwide, and she is represented by international galleries. Since 2016, she has served as Exhibition Manager at IE University (Spain) and as a jury member for the IE Foundation Awards in the Humanities.
Renowned for her emotionally rich and captivating portraits of women, her art emphasizes imagination and fantasy as sources of aesthetic experience. Rather than simply taking photographs, she seeks to “paint” with her camera the emotions of women, their inner dreams, intimacy, and poetry. Consequently, her images not only resemble classical paintings but also capture ephemeral moments of feminine emotions flowing through the river of time. As reality plays hide-and-seek with imagination, her work reflects these unstable states of mind, preserved in a constant state of transformation. Her themes and inspirations draw from spirituality, philosophy, classical literature, and Persian mystical poetry.
