ISABELLA MOLARD

Ritratto di Isabella Molard

Isabella Molard was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1957.
She lives and works in Langrune, Normandy. After spending her childhood in Morocco, Isabella Molard returned to her hometown in 1974 to study art in college, specializing in drawing and plastic arts. She is now a full-time professor. Her exhibition activity began at the age of 22, with an exhibition of drawings at the Meyer Ellinger Gallery in Frankfurt, which was followed by many other shows in galleries and public spaces in Frankfurt, Brussels, Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Milan and Bologna. From 1980 to 1999 she mainly devoted herself to teaching and from 1993 to 1999 she took care of the educational action in the art museums of Lower Normandy.

Molard's first works are in pencil, pastels and watercolors, depicting views of interiors and exteriors made with particular attention to detail. There is a great compositional rigor and an undoubted mastery in guiding the light inside the scene, to emphasize or hide portions of stairs, patios and gardens from view. Since 2002 the first paintings on canvas and wood have appeared, but the choice of subjects remains constant: portions of landscape in which the spectator can breathe the atmosphere of a privileged place, full of peace and silence.
